In 1976, biochemist Jamey Mazzotta took his passion to create innovative haircare products and founded KMS in Redding, California with a promise of researching, manufacturing, and marketing the finest professional haircare products in the world. Distributing internationally only one year later, KMS California has continuously inspired and revolutionized the haircare industry over the past thirty years with constant advances in technology and innovative combinations of natural ingredients in our product lines. In 1995, KMS introduced our flatout Relaxing Balm as the industry’s first professional non-chemical relaxer. Today, the flatout line has been improved by one of KMS California’s most recent and important innovations, our patented Inside Out Perfecting System technology. IOPS technology not only heralds a new age of hair reconstruction, it holds KMS California’s original promise and sets a new industry standard for performance, effectiveness and value.
